Properties and Appearance

Alloy 49 is a nickel-iron alloy that appears dull white and has minimal sheen. It belongs in the controlled expansion metal group.

Due to the high saturation flux density, ductility, and versatility of this alloy, it also has magnetic and shielding properties. It is also mildly resistant against weather and moisture corrosion.

Use Alloy 49 for transformers, solenoids, and magnetic shielding and in electronics and communication equipment.
